SPACE MARINE DEVOTIONAL TEXT – Vehicle Panels
Small script is probably the easiest of the five examples of freehand decaling in this article. You don't even need that steady a hand to accomplish this task.

Preparation
Complete the highlighting and shading of the entire model before you paint the small text. If you plan on putting battle-damage on the model, finish the text before you start painting on the dust, muck, scorch-marks, and scratches. Set the model aside to dry entirely before you add the script.

There’s really only one step to this simple detailing process, which makes it very feasible to cover your vehicle (or power armor, banner, shield, etc.) in text quickly.

Use Skull White paint and a Small Detail Brush to scribble dashes and lines onto the panel of your vehicle. Try to keep all the text inside an imaginary box or rectangle. Also, keep in mind that most illuminated manuscripts start with some sort of fancy calligraphy, gilding, or even imagery.

As a general rule of thumb: light pigment is best over dark surfaces and the reverse is true of light surfaces. When in doubt, you can't go wrong with Skull White or Chaos Black paint for your text.
