Converted Tau Weapons

As the most technically inclined of all the Xenos that the Imperium has encountered, the Tau constantly strive to improve their technology. The burst cannon pictured below has been "sawn off" to try to increase its field of fire at short range. Although this piece of artillery was adjusted for a Devilfish, it can also be used for a Battlesuit's armament to make the weapon much faster to bring to bear in the heat of combat. Obviously, this modification has no effect in terms of the game, but it looks cool.

As for the missile pod at the bottom of the page, Bryan Barnes converted it. Fans of Japanese Anime will instantly recognize the inspiration behind his pack of small missiles leaving a corkscrew of smoke trails as they swarm a target.

Tau Snub-Nosed Burst Cannon
1
Use one Tau burst cannon.
2
Clip off all four barrels where they meet the body of the cannon (two on each side of the burst cannon). Use an X-Acto knife to trim the scars left by your clippers.
3
Assemble both sides of the burst cannon body with plastic glue.
4
Use your clippers to remove the barrels as shown in the image above.
5
Assemble the four-barreled muzzle of the burst cannon and then attach it to the body of the cannon.
6
Drill out the four barrels with a No. 1 drill bit. Now you're ready to get up close and personal in the name of the Greater Good.

Tau Missile Pod with Launched Missiles and Vapor Trails
1
Use a sharp X-Acto blade to carefully trim off the missile warheads from both sides of each pod's body. You will have a total of six rounded warheads. Do not discard them.
2
Cut off the round injection cylinders from a left-over sprue. Trim them down with an X-Acto knife to create a smooth surface.
3
Attach the sprue cylinders and the warheads with plastic glue. Use wire cutters to cut floral wire into to six pieces that measure somewhere between 10-12" each.
4
Use a drill bit that matches the thickness of the floral wire to drill out sockets for the wire in both the pod bodies. You'll need six sockets where the warheads used to be.
5
Glue the wires into the sockets with super glue.
6
Glue both sides of the missile pod together with plastic glue.
7
Once the plastic glue dries, begin to bend the floral wire into shape.
8
The wire should resemble the center image above once you've finished bending the wire.
9
With the same drill bit, drill out a hole in the back of each of the six missiles.
10
Use super glue to attach each of the missiles to the floral wire. Target locked – fire!
