In order to build the Comm Bunker, you'll need to gather the list
of materials found in the table on the right. Some things you can
do without, like all the Rhino bitz; just try and improvise with
whatever you have available.
One key element for this project is the all-important radar dish.
Making one from scratch is certainly a possibility, but I'd rather
just take a trip to the local Toys 'R' Us and root around the aisles.
So I did! The dish you'll see here is actually an accessory from
an action figure (some movie about something that binds the galaxy
together...) that was heavily discounted. If you look around and
peer into enough boxes, you'll come upon on something that'll work
out just fine.
Alternately, you could just piece together some interesting bitz
you may have lying around to form a semblance of a piece of communication
hardware. Get creative and see what you come up with.
First thing you're going to want to do is download and print out
the PDF templates I made for all you wonderful people. Make sure
that you print these out at 100% with no scaling. I know this seems
like common sense, but sometimes printers will do silly things.
So just double check your settings before you hit the print key.
If you don't check this setting out, then the dimensions of your
project will be all screwy and life will seem so very unfair. The
base of a bunker wall should be 5" wide as a point of reference.

These templates are a lifesaver and eliminate the need for you
to painstakingly measure each and every piece of the bunker (like
I had to!). The downloads are pretty self explanatory – just
cut out the appropriate material for each marked template. Once
you have all your materials and templates ready, get started by
clicking the "1" below.
