0002 - Comms [01] http://taersliver.deviantart.com Preparation These images should be printed at 300 DPI. This is set in the image files already, so you should be able to just print them at 100% using most image viewing/editing software. The images should be printed onto white 200 gsm A4 or Letter sized card. Most home printers can handle this thickness of card (check your manual), and it provides sturdy, lasting models. Print one copy each of pages 1 and 2. Print one copy of page 3 or page 4, to choice. Before cutting out on the solid lines, score along the dotted fold lines. Once everything's cut out, do a dry assembly run, and make sure you understand how everything will go together. It's no fun trying to discover how it works while the glue is drying. (optional) After the dry run, before you glue, color the exposed edges of white card to suit the surrounding texture. This can be done with anything from crayon to paint, use whatever works best for you. Component Construction Base, Neck, Detail, Hub, Blades: No special considerations needed. Just work through the tabs. Body: Note the folds which will need to be scored on the reverse (unprinted) side of the card. Ground: These are intended to be printed onto 200 gsm card, and then glued to another layer of card for a thick stable base. I prefer 400 gsm card for the second layer, but a layer or two of 200 gsm should work. Assembly: Glue the base onto the ground. Glue the body onto the base. Glue the detail onto the model. Glue the four blades onto the sides of the hub. Glue the flat face of the neck onto the back of the hub. Glue the neck onto the model in desired elevation.
